My previous post regarding Chrysler's ridiculous idea of giving gas away at $2.99 is proving to be correct: Ridiculous! Only 5-10% of consumers are going for it...
This was a lame incentive that was not any better than normal cash back or financing incentives. Check out Autoblog's article which also mentions the fact that people would rather buy more fuel efficient cars in the first place. Way to go consumers!

This is as dumb as waisting tax payers money to give them a "holiday" from high gas prices. This is not a long term solution and I would rather pay high gas prices if that meant we'd make giant steps forward in getting off foreign oil altogether...and NO, I don't mean drilling in Alaska or off every U.S. coastline!
